Hubungan Diabetes Melitus dengan Kejadian Depresi pada Lansia di Poli Geriatri

Abstract

Diabetes menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi baik mikrovaskular, makrovaskular, neuropati, maupun psikologis. Peningkatan usia sebanding dengan peningkatan kejadian diabetes, termasuk kelompok lansia. Kelompok lansia juga rentan mengalami depresi. Untuk mengetahui risiko depresi pada lansia bisa menggunakan skrining depresi Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan diabetes melitus dengan kejadian depresi pada pasien lansia. Penelitian observasional analitik ini menggunakan desain studi cross sectional. Variabel independen adalah kejadian diabetes melitus. Variabel dependen adalah kejadian depresi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah pasien poli geriatri RSUD Dr. Soetomo pada Desember 2020. Jumlah sampel adalah 47 yang diambil menggunakan metode accidental sampling. Dari 47 subyek penelitian, prevalensi diabetes melitus adalah sebesar 40,4% dan kejadian depresi sebesar 10,6%. Semua pasien yang mengalami kejadian depresi adalah pasien diabetes melitus.Terdapat hubungan bermakna diabetes melitus dengan kejadian depresi di Poli Geriatri RSUD Dr. Soetomo pada Tahun 2020 (p value <0,05).
