Peran Vitamin D pada Infeksi Covid-19

Abstract

Hingga saat ini obat definitif untuk Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) masih belum ditemukan. Sehingga penelitian terkait pencegahan, pengobatan hingga rehabilitasi COVID-19 terus dilakukan sebagai upaya menurunkan prevalensi kejadian dan angka kematian akibat penyakit ini. Pemeliharaan status makro dan mikronutrien merupakan salah satu langkah penting dalam pencegahan COVID-19. Salah satu mikronutrien yang memiliki peran penting dalam pertahanan tubuh melawan patogen ialah Vitamin D. Vitamin D memiliki berbagai efek antivirus, imunomodulator, dan kardiometabolik yang diakui, yang dapat membantu memerangi COVID-19. Literature review ini bertujuan untuk membahas peran vitamin D terhadap infeksi COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode literature review dari 62 artikel dari jurnal internasional dan nasional dengan rentang tahun publikasi 2003-2021. Referensi didapatkan melalui literature searching dari database  PubMed,  NCBI, Elsevier dan Google Scholar dengan  kata  kunci  ‘COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, dan Vitamin D’. Referensi yang didapatkan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan metode systematic literature review yang mencakup kegiatan mengumpulkan, mengevaluasi, dan mengembangkan penelitian dengan pokok bahasan tertentu. Hasil literature review ini didapatkan bahwa vitamin D memiliki peranan penting dalam meningkatkan pertahanan tubuh melawan infeksi COVID-19 melalui barier fisik, meningkatkan imunitas seluler, dan memodulasi imunitas adaptif serta dapat mencegah Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) dengan apoptosis pneumosit dan merangsang sintesis surfaktan dalam sel-sel yang terinfeksi.
