Implementasi Modern Dressing terhadap Proses Penyembuhan Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Abstract
Diabetes melitus atau DM merupakan salah satu penyakit yang disebabkan karena terganggunya kinerja metabolic dalam tubuh dan menyebabkan terjadinya retensi insulin pada penderitanya. Kondisi tersebut dapat diperparah dengan ketidakpatuhan terhadap terapi serta control makanan yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai komplikasi, salah satunya diabetic foot ulcer. Diketahui hingga saat ini 50-75% penderita diabetes melitus dengan komplikasi diabetic foot ulcer mengalami amputasi pada bagian kaki bawah yang disebabkan karena kurangnya penanganan terhadap luka. Dalam kasus ini, penulis menyajikan kasus diabetic foot ulcer bagian metatarsal sinistra pada penderita diabetes melitus dan dilakukan penanganan wound care berupa modern dressing menggunakan foam. Dalam penilaian luka, observasi dilakukan dengan bantuan Bates—Jensen Wound Assesment Tool sebagai instrument terkait luka. Berdasarkan penilitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil bahwa penerapan modern dressing dengan penggunaan foam sebagai media penyerapan eksudat dapat mempengaruhi penyembuhan diabetic foot ulcer secara significant, terdapat perubahan luka yang mengarah pada proses regenerasi. Selain itu, penanganan yang tepat dan control terapi yang sesuai dapat mempengaruhi proses penyembuhan diabetic foot ulcer pada penderita diabetes melitus.
