Efek Mangiferin dalam Mengatasi Masalah Kesehatan
Abstract

EFFECT OF MANGIFERIN ON OVERCOMING HEALTHY PROBLEMS
ABSTRACT
The biggest health problem in the world is caused by non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease, and diabetes mellitus. The prevalence of non-communicable diseases is higher in countries with low and middle income than countries with high income. Various treatments are carried out to overcome the disease such as the use of oral drugs. However, some drugs have side effects that cause other diseases. Alternative medicine is carried out using herbal treatments obtained from plants. One of the plants that has herbal potential is Mango (Mangifera) which contains mangiferin compounds. These compounds have pharmacological effects that can be used to treatment the disease. This review article aims to explain the effects of Mangiferin as a therapy for health problems, especially in non-communicable diseases in previous studies. The method used in this article is through searching articles through the NCBI database and Google Scholar. The results of an article search found that Mangiferin has anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and antioxidant effects that can be used as therapies to treat a variety of health problems. Suggestion for all researchers is more developed about the potential of herbal plants especially mangoes so that it can be used as a treatment.
